港大既要做聚焦一隅的明鏡，也要做一面折射萬象的棱鏡，更要在不確定中掌握衍射的奧妙。圖為張翔於「香港大學卓越人才論壇」中致辭。 光孕育萬物，理解其奧義，方能明晰世界。在高等學府，人才如光，照亮人類和文明的前路。 香港大學走過百餘年，我常思考：它在香港、在國家、在世界的定位何在？若以光作喻，我們既要做聚焦一隅的明鏡，也要做一面折射萬象的棱鏡，更要在不確定中掌握衍射的奧妙。 聚光：建立頂尖人才的「學術引力」 一所大學的靈魂，在於它聚集了什麼樣的人。 港大如何成為一所引領世界的學府？答案在於「聚光」——將分散全球的頂尖光芒匯聚成一股能量。近年，港大積極延攬全球人才，包括引入了三位諾貝爾獎得主、一位菲爾茲獎得主。這些大師的到來，不僅豐富了學術榮光，更在港大和香港激發出強大的「學術引力」。 我們千萬不要低估大師們對年輕學子的影響力和感召力。歷史上有許多偉大學者的熱忱，正正由於年輕時在走廊上聽過大師級前輩的一席話而被點燃，更何況跟前輩們一起做研究、談學術。頂尖人才的到來也能刺激同儕間的思辨，形成更有活力、具啟發性的學術環境，從而激發更多前沿研究，是一個良性循環
